At STILLA, we believe everyone deserves a space of their own. Men have long had their sheds and man caves, but more and more women are now creating their own outdoor havens. A ‘she shed’ is a chance to rethink outdoor living: a place to relax, pursue your passions or simply step away from everyday life. Picture a peaceful retreat in your own garden, designed exactly the way you want it. Whether you’re dreaming of a quiet reading nook, a creative studio or a wellness space, your ‘she shed’ is waiting.
What is a ‘she shed’?
A ‘she shed’ is a woman’s personal sanctuary, a private retreat tucked away in the garden. Think of it as the stylish answer to the man cave: a blank canvas ready for your own touch. It’s somewhere to escape the busyness of home, focus on what you love, or simply put your feet up.
‘She shed’ ideas and common uses
There are as many ways to use a ‘she shed’ as there are women who build them. Here are a few ideas to get you started:
- Home office: Turn your shed into a calm workspace, away from the distractions of the house.
- Creative studio: Whether you paint, write or craft, a ‘she shed’ gives you room to create.
- Garden room: Use your shed as a base for potting, planting and tending your garden, or simply for enjoying the view.
- Wellness retreat: Set up a space for yoga, meditation or curling up with a good book.
-
Outdoor living room: Extend your living space into the garden with comfy seating, cosy décor and
perhaps a small kitchenette.
- Hobby haven: From sewing to scrapbooking, give your favourite pastime a home of its own.
